The rainy season this year has been unusually cool. However, it has finally begun. The baikamo plants and hydrangeas are beautiful this year, which makes us happy.

First of all, I will talk about the community roundtable meeting. This is the 8th year. I began this meeting in Shinden in May, and finished in Kamioda-ku last weekend. There are still 9 villages left, including Hase. I am sure that I will be in tune with everyone’s ideas after listening to their opinions. I would like to thank everyone in the villages again.

On June 1st, Hyogo Prefecture designed the day as the "Goodwill Day". All the students and teachers of the nursery schools visited the Kamikawa town office. I received a lot of colourful bouquets from the children, and their eyes were shining brightly. I felt very glad when I saw the beautiful flowers. I hope we can spread goodwill in the town from now on.

On June 10th, the "Firefly Festivals" were held at the Inumi River, and Nakamura-ku. It was a bit chill, but there were plenty of visitors at the venues. Everyone in the area was doing their best, and the visitors were smiling. I felt that everyone loved the festivals, and the visitors were able to enjoy a moment of peace with the fantastic light of the fireflies.

On June 17th, the Children's Society Ball Game Tournament was held under fine weather. We have been struggling to participate in the tournament due to the declining birth-rate, however. Like last year, five softball teams and 13 volleyball teams participated. The children put in a serious effort, and the parents cheered loudly. The K3 team won first place for the softball club, and Fukumoto team won second place. Fukumoto team also won first place for the volleyball club, and the Ochidani Union team came in second place. All of the teams will appear in the Kanzaki regional tournament. It will be held at Kanzaki elementary school on July 15th. I hope they will do their best.

On June 18th, the Kanzaki-gun firefighting championship was held at the Fukusaki Salvia Dome. The Ochidani group won third place in the small fire truck pump section. The other groups also showed outstanding manoeuvres. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the community, including the Kamikawa firefighting team, for your support.

The June Kamikawa Town Assembly was finished on the 28th. We got approval for all the agenda items. Regarding general inquiries, four members of the parliament proposed, "challenging the mayoral election for a third term", "future town policy issues", "current situation of regional revitalization comprehensive strategy", and "management of security lights and street lights". We got questions and suggestions about the "Welfare policy for disabled people in Kamikawa". We will air this on cable TV at a later date, so please watch.

We will endeavour to implement projects centered on the Kamikawa regional revitalization related business, with the catcホームページhrase "settlement that comes from exchange". We will do our best to open the hospital’s north building, which is the most important project, as well as the Mineyama Heights ski resort, and opening the roadside station "Gin no Basyamichi, Kamikawa".

Today, July 1st, is the start of the "Summer Story" of Ochi River Meisui Road. In the evening, firefly and summer festivals will be held at the Shinden Furusato villge. The Green Echo Kasagata pool and river has also opened. In addition, the Kamikawa Local Vitalization Cooperator started an event called "Kamikawa Mercato", and will hold events at Awaga no Umaya from 10 am. Please do not hesitate to drop by.

The 12th Kamikawa Summer Festival will be held with the theme of "Kamikawa best!! From Kamikawa to the world – Love the local fireworks". The fireworks display will use 1000 fireworks using 2500 fireworks funds. Preparation is proceeding as planned. Let’s enjoy a lot of fireworks with all our visitors this year. For this reason, we hope to cooperate with the annual fireworks fund, including the night store openings and so on.

On July 2nd, the fisher ban of Ayu will be lifted on the Odawara River. On the 17th of June, we lifted the fishing ban on the Ochi River, the Izasa River, and the Inumi River. I would like you to fully enjoy the nature of Kamikawa at these 4 rivers.

On July 9th, a Summer Cleanup Operation will be held. We will prepare to welcome tourists to Kamikawa. On the 16th, the Hase Station Summer Evening Festival will be held as a promotion of the use of the Bantan line, and regional revitalization. Thank you for using JR.

There is a BBQ marathon at the Green Echo Kasagata on the 22nd. In addition, on the 23rd, the 7th annual Kamikawa Rakugo show by Katsura Kichiya will be held at Grindel Hall. Please come see the show.

Finally, since the rainy season has not had much rain, the water level of the Ikuno Dam is also decreasing. On the other hand, localized heavy rain damage has occurred through the country as well. Let’s keep hydrated and healthy in this full heat, and prepare disaster measures in case of unexpected heavy rain, etc.
